Parquet and Laminate Flooring Guide
Flooring Options
Floor covering is one of the most important components of a home, both aesthetically and practically. Parquet and laminate remain the two most preferred options.
Real Parquet
Real parquet, cut from hardwood, can be sanded and renewed over the years. With a life of 20–30 years, this material is an economical investment in the long term. However, it is sensitive to changes in moisture.
Laminate Flooring
Made of a photographic print on an HDF board with protective layers, laminate is advantageous in terms of water resistance, scratch resistance and easy maintenance. Its price-performance balance is superior to real parquet.
SPC and WPC Options
Fully waterproof SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) floor coverings can be used in all areas of the home, including the kitchen and bathroom. They provide a floor that feels sturdier than laminate.
Laying Methods
There are three basic laying methods: glue-down, nail-down and the click system. The click system (floating) is the fastest and quietest method; it can be applied without changing the substructure.
