Care of Italian Paint Surfaces

The life of decorative plaster surfaces, which require a high material and labour investment, can be extended to decades with correct care.

Daily Cleaning

Decorative plaster surfaces should be cleaned with a dry or very lightly damp, soft cloth. Abrasive cleaning products, solvents and brushes damage the surface.

Stain Response

Fresh stains should be lifted immediately by pressing (not rubbing) with a clean, dry cloth. For dried stains, a very small amount of neutral liquid soap solution can be used.

Polish Renewal

On surfaces with a wax or mineral polish coating, renewing the polish every 2–3 years restores the surface's shine and protective quality.

Scratch Repair

Small scratches can be hidden with a repair filler pen obtained from the same paint company. For large scratches and damage, professional repair is essential.
