Two-Colour Wall Painting Techniques
Two-Colour Wall Applications
Painting a wall in two colours together rather than a single colour is among the most on-trend decoration moves of recent years.
Horizontal Division
Dividing the wall horizontally in two is the most classic two-colour application. The lower part is usually painted a dark tone and the upper part a light tone. The dividing line can be kept at a height of 80–100 cm or emphasised with a dado rail.
Colour Blocks
Filling a certain corner, wall section or geometric form with a different colour adds the effect of a contemporary artwork to the room.
Free-Form Application
A free-form two-colour transition created with tape and masking produces original results with broken lines, waves or semicircle forms.
Colour Choice
The two colours can be chosen from the same tone family (light grey + dark grey) or complementary colours can be used. A very sharp contrast can look tiring over large areas.
