Italian Paint Techniques

The techniques known as "Italian paint" are not actually a specific brand or country, but the general name for certain decorative painting techniques. Made from lime, marble dust and natural pigments, these techniques have been used for centuries in Mediterranean architecture, above all in Italy.

Marmorino

Created with a blend of marble dust and lime, this technique gives the surface a genuine marble look. When polished, a semi-gloss, smooth surface is obtained. Thanks to its hardness and water resistance, it can also be used in bathrooms and kitchens.

Veneziano Plaster

Achieved through multi-layer application and polishing, this technique creates depth and light reflection. It is preferred especially in luxury residences and hotels.

Spatula Paint

Applied with a metal spatula to create an irregular texture, this technique is used in modern, industrial-style spaces. It offers a matte or semi-matte surface option.

How It Differs from Standard Paint

Italian techniques are generally hand-applied and multi-layered. The application time is longer, but the resulting surface is extremely durable. Material and labour costs are higher than for conventional paint; in return, the aesthetic value created is incomparable.
