Can a Marmorino Wall Be Wiped Clean?
Yes, but only if a protective final coat has been applied and you use the right method. Marmorino sealed with wax or a clear protective coat can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth. An unprotected surface is porous, so a stain can soak in.
How is it wiped?
- Use a soft, clean, slightly damp microfibre cloth.
- If needed, add a few drops of neutral soap to the water.
- Wipe with light strokes without scrubbing, then dry with a dry cloth.
What should be avoided?
Acidic cleaners such as vinegar and limescale remover attack a lime-based surface; bleach and solvents damage the protective coat. Scouring pads, wire wool and steam cleaners are not used either.
What if there is a stain?
Blot a fresh stain without rubbing. If a stain has dried and soaked in, do not scrape the surface; ask the applicator who did the work about a local touch-up.
When is the protective coat renewed?
When the surface starts absorbing water: if a drop leaves a dark mark instead of beading, the protection needs renewing. In Erdağ Yapı applications the protective final coat is part of the job; details are on our marmorino page.
