Can a kitchen be renovated without replacing the units?

Yes. If the carcasses are sound, changing just the doors and worktop renews most kitchens at well below the cost of a full replacement.

Plasterboard or block partitions?

For partitions, plasterboard is faster, lighter and takes services inside it. Where sound insulation matters, double boarding with mineral wool gets close to a block wall. If heavy units are going up, we add noggings behind the board.
