Italian Paint Application in the Princes' Islands
The high-ceilinged rooms, cornices and ceiling roses of the Islands' mansions offer a setting for Italian decorative paint that is rare in Turkey. But work in these rooms is different from working on a bare wall. Erdağ Yapı Dekorasyon applies Marmorino, travertino, marble and concrete-effect finishes across the Islands.
Working with Period Detail
Where a room has cornices, dado bands and a ceiling rose, where the decorative surface begins and ends is part of the design. Stopping the texture below the band makes the room look taller and frames the period detail; carrying it up to the ceiling suppresses that detail. During application the edges of these features are masked and protected and, where needed, cleaned and repaired with the same system. This is not fast work; but the result is a surface that grows out of the room's character rather than being added to it.
