Why Is a Survey Carried Out Before a Renovation?
A survey means measuring and examining the home on site; only after it can a correct price and a correct time be given. A figure quoted by phone or from photos is a guess, not a quote.
What is checked in a survey?
- Measurements: wall, ceiling and floor areas; door and window openings.
- Condition of surfaces: plaster, cracks, damp, old paint and old wallpaper.
- Services: the fuse board, socket positions, water and waste runs.
- Access: lift, stairs, the route for materials and rubble.
- Your wishes: which rooms, which materials, what budget.
What do you get after the survey?
A quote in which every item is written down: the work, the materials, the time and the price. When the job is finished, this document is also the measure of what was and was not done.
The risk of a price without a survey
Every problem that was not seen comes back as "extra work" during the job. When comparing two quotes, look not at the total but at whether the same items are listed.
Is the survey charged, and how long does it take?
At Erdağ Yapı the survey and detailed quote are free of charge throughout Istanbul. The visit depends on the size of the home and the scope; having your list and floor plan ready shortens it. Use our contact page to book.
