When Should Painting and Decoration Be Done in a Workplace Renovation?

Painting and decoration are done after the services, suspended ceilings and partitions are finished, and before the flooring and furniture. The final coat of paint and the wallpaper are left to the very end, just before signage and furniture are installed.

The eight-step order in a workplace

  1. Strip-out and demolition
  2. Power, data, air conditioning, ventilation and fire-system runs
  3. Plasterboard partitions and suspended-ceiling grid
  4. Filler, primer and first coat of paint
  5. Ceiling tiles and light fittings
  6. Flooring
  7. Final coat, decorative paint and wallpaper
  8. Furniture, shelving, signage and cleaning

Why paint after the ceiling and before the floor?

Paint applied before the ceiling is closed is soiled as the services teams pass. Filling and sanding after the floor is laid scratch the new floor.

Why are decorative paint and wallpaper last?

Both are surfaces that are hard to repair. They should be done after scaffolding, cables and furniture have passed, not before.

The best time in the calendar

The business's quiet period, or the last week before opening. Leave a few days before the opening date for drying and airing; the smell of paint should not be a guest's first impression.

What if only the paint is renewed in a business that stays open?

It is done section by section after closing, with water-based products chosen so that the space is dry and odour-free by morning. Erdağ Yapı gives this programme in writing in its workplace renovation quote.
