Our showroom is at Sunflower AVM in Esenyurt — on the European side itself. That is why we can survey the whole European side, from Silivri to Sarıyer and from Bakırköy to Başakşehir, the same day. We recommend holding the samples in the light of your own space at the showroom; colour and texture read differently in a catalogue.

Two Distinct Building Types on the European Side

What sets a covering's lifespan is not the product but the wall beneath it, and the European side splits in two here. In the new blocks of Başakşehir, Bahçeşehir, Beylikdüzü and Esenyurt the surface is even but the plaster comes with a single primer coat; the adhesive will not hold until its absorbency is balanced, and a covering laid before new plaster has dried out blisters within months. In the established apartments of Bakırköy, Şişli, Fatih and Beyoğlu the walls are thickly plastered and uneven, and the high ceilings change the scale of the pattern. At the survey we see which group you are in, take moisture readings, and write any needed preparation into the price upfront.

Which European-side districts do you cover?

Can I see samples at the showroom?
Yes. Rather than choosing from a catalogue we recommend holding the sample in your own light; the same pattern reads differently on a north or south elevation.

What sets the price of wallpaper?
The roll price of the product, the waste from the pattern repeat and how much preparation the wall needs. We quote on actual roll count, not square metres; we do not quote per square metre over the phone because it never holds.

How many rolls will my room need?
We take the square metres from wall width and height, then add the repeat. A bedroom with a 3-metre ceiling may take 4-5 rolls plain and 6-7 with a 64 cm repeat. We allow a spare roll.

How many years does wallpaper last?
With a quality product, proper surface preparation and sound workmanship, 10-15 years. Early failure is almost always the skipped primer and preparation, not the product.

Is primer essential?
Essential. It evens out the wall's absorbency; even in new flats the skim coat is absorbent, and in old thick plaster the absorbency varies from point to point, so without primer the seams open.

Can it go up straight away in a new flat?
It depends how dry the wall is. If a covering goes on before new plaster has fully dried, blistering appears within months. We take moisture readings at the survey and tell you whether it is ready.

Do the old flats in Bakırköy and Şişli cause problems?
In these buildings the walls are thickly plastered and uneven; pasting straight onto them opens the seams. We first level with plaster and prime, and keep the pattern large-scale on high walls.

Can wallpaper go in a rented flat?
Yes. We recommend non-woven products; they strip off in one piece without damaging the wall, so returning the flat to its original state is straightforward.

Which product suits clinics, offices and schools?
Glass textile. It is paintable, washable and impact-resistant, lasting far longer than wallpaper in high-traffic corridors. We worked in exactly such spaces at the Lazerline Clinic in Bakırköy and in Nişantaşı.

Do I have to buy the product from you?
No, labour can be quoted separately. If you buy elsewhere, check the batch number, repeat size and roll count with us first — missing or mismatched batches are the most common problem.

How long does the work take?
On a prepared surface a single room usually takes a day and a whole flat 2-4 days. Add half a day for stripping and a day for plaster levelling.

Is damp a problem in seafront flats (Bakırköy, Sarıyer)?
It can be. On the shore we take moisture readings before installing. Where damp comes through the facade we do not paper until the source is dealt with; otherwise it returns within months as blistering and mould.

Is stripping the old paper included?
It appears as a separate item, because the time depends on the type. Vinyl comes off easily while paper-backed types need soaking. We identify the type at the survey and tell you the time.

Which product suits a child's room?
Wipeable, low-emission products. Washable vinyl or textile-backed types with a wipeable face last noticeably longer in a child's room.

Is the survey charged?
No. On-site measuring and surface and moisture assessment are free. After measuring we give an itemised written price.
